Here at Holiday Almeria, we understand that booking your holiday is important and that you want everything to be perfect. We have put together a small FAQ to help you with answers to commonly asked questions.
Are flights included in the price?
Sorry no. Flights are available with most budget airlines into Almeria, Murcia or Alicante airports. Not being a specialised travel operator, it would be impossible for us to provide "all in" prices and we also think you could find flights cheaper online yourself as you know your requirements. Some of the better known flight trawlers and airlines are included in our affiliates page for your convenience.
How far is your apartment from the airport?
Almeria airport is about 1 hours drive from the apartment, Murcia San Javier is about 1 hour and 20 minutes (using the toll road) and Alicante about 1 hour and 50 minutes. The roads in this area are relatively traffic free and very easy to use.
How many people can your apartment comfortably accommodate?
This is a one bedroom apartment which has a double bed in the main bedroom. The apartment is available for two persons, Young children are welcome, although we may not be able to provide a travel cot. It is regretted that anyone other than the persons named on the booking form arriving may result in cancellation of the holiday with no refund, and in any case, the unnamed persons will not be admitted.
How far is the apartment from the beach?
Al Andalus Resort is located approximately 5 minutes drive away from the nearest beach. The beach in Puerto Rey is known as Vera Playa and has an excellent record for cleanliness, being a blue flag holder. There are restaurants up and down the beach area meaning you can stay out all day if you wish.
What is there to do in the locality?
There are bars and restaurants within easy walking distance of the apartment, all offering good quality food and drink. The towns of Vera, Mojacar and Garrucha are minutes away by car. There you will find traditional Spanish markets and many;restaurants.Golf is the mainstay of the area with 3 golf courses situated within a 20 minute drive. One of the courses also has a very reasonably priced day spa for those not interested in golf. A go kart track is a small distance away, as is scuba diving and horse riding. A 10 minute drive away is the slightly more commercialised area of Mojacar. All along the beach front here are restaurants and bars and everyone is made to feel welcome.
How can I pay and when will my balance be due?
Although our holidays are currently priced in Euros, a Sterling price will be provided if requested. The exchange rate quoted (we use Travelex) will cover your deposit and final payment. Payment of your deposit can be made by Paypal, credit card, bank transfer or cheque with no charges. It is preferred that the final payment is made by bank transfer or personal cheque as these attract no charges. We are happy to accept credit card or Paypal payments for the final balance, but the guest is responsible for all processing charges incurred. The booking deposit is payable within 3 days to secure your booking, and the balance (including security deposit unless you have opted for credit card/ Paypal) is due in cleared funds, 6 weeks prior to departure.
What happens to my security deposit?
Please understand that not everyone treats a holiday home as they would their own. To protect ourselves against damage, we have to charge a refundable security deposit. This is received by us prior to your UK departure and will be returned to you (less any necessary charges) once we have a report on the apartment's condition upon your return. It can take up to 7 days for the report to be received by us. We will always contact you in advance if we intend to withhold any amount. If you choose to pay your security deposit by credit card or Paypal, we will contact you one week prior to your departure for payment
There is satellite TV in the accommodation, what channels does that include?
The lounge television will have a selection of free (non subscription) English channels as well as TDT (Spanish Freeview). The bedroom television is only connected to the DVD player.
Are linen and towels provided in the apartment?
For holiday bookings, bedding and bathroom towels are normally provided . You will need to take your own towels for the beach and around the pool as an excess cleaning charge may be levied for bath towels taken out of the apartment.
Is there maid service or change of linen during my stay?
The apartment is cleaned before and after, but not during your stay.Should you require an extra clean, it can be arranged on site for a supplementary fee. There is a washing machine and a clothes airer for you to wash the bedding and towels yourself, although sufficient will be provided for your stay. Should you be visiting in the Winter months, there is also a spin drier for those days when a 600rpm washing machine isn't good enough!
Are airport transfers provided?
We may be able to arrange airport transfers upon request for an extra fee (payable locally), although there is a new shared bus service from the major airports at a reasonable price.Please enquire in plenty of time for your journey.
Can we go into our accommodation before 1600 on arrival?
The official entry time for your accommodation is 1600. A previous guest may still be in residence until 1030 and time must then be allowed for our management team to prepare the accommodation for your stay. It may however be possible to arrive early, even if just to drop your luggage, so please enquire.
Is there a welcome pack?
A welcome pack is not normally provided, but a food parcel can be arranged for those arriving on a Sunday, Bank holiday or late in the evening. The local supermarket is only a minute's drive away and we feel it is better for our guests to be able to choose their own foods. If you do provisions, please let us know what you want one week in advance of arrival. Payment for these items will be required on arrival.
Can we stay in our accommodation later than the vacating time of 1030?
Please remember the accommodation may need to be prepared for the next guest so this is not always possible, however, it may be possible for you to stay later. Please check before your holiday commences.
Where do I pick up my accommodation keys? You will be met by our on site management team at the gates to the complex. It is therefore imperative that we have your outbound flight details to assess your arrival time. On arrival, you can either telephone the management team or use the intercom provided at the gate.
Will a representative meet us at the airport?
No. You will only be met if you have arranged airport transfers.
Is there an iron and ironing board in the apartment?
Yes, the apartment is equipped with an iron and ironing board.
Does the apartment have a safe?
Yes, the property has a safe. You will be given instructions and the code once your final payment has been received and cleared.
Is there a hairdryer?
We realise that in these times of "minimal" hand luggage allowances, you don't want to be burdened with unnecessary items. We do provide a hairdryer and this can usually be found in the wardrobe.
